Covid-19 Testing
Testing and Medical Research
Rapidscreen123 offers same day Antigen and RT-PCR testing for COVID-19!
The symptoms of COVID-19 varies from person to person, which is why we rely on standardized tests to determine whether we are carriers of the virus. It is recommended to get tested for COVID-19 if you experience cold or flu symptoms, fevers, nausea, tiredness or loss of taste and smell.
Our services extend to offer two different tests for COVID-19:
COVID-19 ANTIGEN
This is the fastest way to determine whether a person is infected. Since the testing method is quite simpler than its counterpart RT-PCR testing, you can obtain your results within 4-12 hours, depending on volume.
COVID-19 ANTIGEN immediate results
Don’t have time to wait? Need your test results quicker? We provide an option to obtain your results from the test site within 1-2 hours for an additional fee of just $35
Procedure:
COVID-19 ANTIGEN utilizes a cotton swab that will be inserted into your nostril to extract a fluid sample, similar to RT-PCR. The sample is then treated with a specific liquid before being placed on a strip with antibodies specific to SARS-COV-2. If the virus is present in the sample, the antibodies will bind to the antigens and form a coloured line on the test strip.
Advantages of choosing COVID-19 ANTIGEN are:
- It is cheaper than the other options
- It is faster than the other options
- Results are generally very accurate when positive
Disadvantages are:
- Less accurate than a RT-PCR test

RT-PCR
Also known as the gold standard for COVID-19 testing, RT-PCR is the most accurate test you could opt for. This type of test takes longer, ranging between 2-3 days to obtain the results. ALL RT-PCR are approved for travel both domestically and internationally.
RT-PCR Same Day Results
Don’t have time to wait that long? Need your test results quicker? We provide an option to obtain your results from the test site within the same day, for an additional fee of just $150.00.
Procedure:
PCR (polymerase chain reaction) or molecular testing, involves amplification of genetic material in a test tube, to detect even a small amount of COVID-19 genes within the sample. The RNA is converted to DNA and mixed with polymerase. This solution is then heated and cooled consecutively, with the addition of a primer, in order to produce multiple copies of COVID-19 if present. This method ensure that even the smallest amount of Coronavirus genes present is multiplied an enough number of times to produce accurate test results. The amplified sequence contains a dye, which aids detectability.
Advantages of choosing RT-PCR
- It is highly accurate since it is lab tested
- Less likely to yield false negatives
Disadvantages are:
- Often more expensive and time consuming than COVID-19 ANTIGEN
